Central County Flyers Chili Recipe
**This recipe makes 1 gallon. Please double the batch**
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 Pound Ground Chuck
- 1 Cup Onions - diced
- 2 Cups Celery - diced
- 1 Quart Tomato Juice
- 6 Oz Tomato Paste
- 15 ½ Oz Can Red Kidney Beans
- 2 Teaspoons Chili Powder
- 2 Teaspoons Salt
- 2 Teaspoons Sugar
- 1 Tablespoon Butter
- 1 Quart Water
- Small Amount Garlic
Directions:
- Put tablespoon of butter in heavy kettle & simmer ground chuck until cooked but not brown.
- Add the water, onion, celery, garlic and salt.
- Simmer in covered kettle until vegetables are tender.
- Add tomato juice, tomato paste, sugar and chili powder.
- Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Add kidney beans and bring to a boil.
- Each member is to make two gallons of chili.
- Bring to the airport no later than Friday morning by 10:00 AM. Feel free to put it in our fridge on Wednesday or Thursday if that is more convenient.
- Please do not add any macaroni noodles. Chili with and without noodles will be in separate Nescos in the serving line.
- This recipe makes approximately 1 gallon – we need TWO gallons.
- Please do not bring frozen chili.
- Please mark your containers and pick them up at the end of the day.
